Today’s Scripture:
“But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.” — John 14:26 (NLT)
Jesus reassures His disciples that although He will be leaving them, He will not abandon them. The Father will send an Advocate, the Holy Spirit, to be with them. This verse emphasizes the role of the Holy Spirit as a teacher and a reminder of Jesus’ teachings. The Holy Spirit is depicted as a divine presence that actively guides, educates, and reminds believers of the truth, ensuring that the teachings of Jesus stay alive and influential in their daily lives. This promise extends to all believers, affirming that they are never alone in their spiritual journey and always have access to divine wisdom and guidance.
Ask Yourself:
- How often do I seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in my daily decisions and challenges?
- In what ways am I being reminded of Jesus’ teachings, and how can I open myself more to the Holy Spirit’s counsel?
Take Action:
Men we can apply this teaching by consciously inviting the Holy Spirit into their daily routines. Start each day with a moment of prayer or meditation, asking the Holy Spirit for wisdom and guidance. As you face challenges or decisions throughout the day, pause to reflect and seek the Spirit’s insight. Additionally, engage in studying the scriptures regularly to remain connected to Jesus’ teachings and be open to what the Holy Spirit wants to remind you of through them.
Pray This:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, my Advocate and Counselor. I ask for Your guidance and wisdom through the Spirit in all that I do today. Help me to listen and be attentive to Your teachings, and remind me of Your truth in the moments I need it most. May Your presence lead me closer to You and strengthen my walk in faith. Amen.
